Starting in 1947, the Mount Gambier exchange with Glossop High School and now Berri Regional Secondary School has become Australia’s longest running public school exchange.

Did you go on the Mount Gambier exchange?

For the next two years we will be celebrating our 80th anniversary.

We would love to compile your memories, stories, photos, videos and even any memorabilia into a digital and physical display.

There will be commemorative events held in Mount Gambier during this year’s exchange at the start of July, followed by Berri celebrations in 2027.

Former student turned teacher Tamara Gilgen has maintained connections formed from her exchanges starting in 1996.

“I remember being a Year 8 student at Glossop High School and watching the events and thinking I want to be involved in this,” Ms Gilgen said.

“I guess the most special thing about the exchange has been the connections made.”

We invite former students, teachers, families with a connection to the Mount Gambier v Glossop High School/Berri Regional Secondary College exchange to share pictures they feel comfortable for us to display.

We would also love to hear about your memories of sporting matches, debates, socials and billeting.
